Explorer Redesigns Google Glass Interface
A Google Glass Explorer created a concept interface of the device that seems to look better than the actual one, which, according to him, is cluttered and messy. The interfaced designed by looks really good, though it also comes with its flaws.
Glass’ interface is pretty new to users, so we don’t really have a precedent for it to know how it should actually look. Google has to test and find the best solution for it, but it’s pretty hard considering the size of the display and lack of touchscreen or physical buttons. Due to those two reasons, the interface has to be simple and easy to navigate through, but some find it too cluttered, while at the same time it lacks the plenitude of possibilities we got used to from our smartphones.
The problem with Glass is that you sometimes have to scroll too much in order to find something and voice commands are available in every screen.
The concept interface makes it easier to understand how to use it and organizes Glass better. You can see in the video below how easy is to access its most common features, with thumbnails and sorting. Setting toggles are also in the form of thumbnails, so you can see them all in one screen, instead of swiping through all of them in order to find the one you need.
Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think about Serge’s concept interface. We really hope Google is going to find a way of improving the interface before releasing the customer edition. A better interface should attract even more users, if they find it easy to use and functional.
