Google Glass Is For Sale Again, But Invite-Only From Other Explorers
Google Glass Explorers can now invite their friends to buy the device. We believe Google is trying to get the device a bit more popular before it’s official release, but the price remained the same for the moment. Those who get invitations from other Glass Explorers have to pay $1,500 in order to secure a device. Once a person gets invited, he must also travel to one of Google’s location to pick-up Google Glass in person.
Google Glass can be picked-up in New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles, which significantly increases the costs for those who aren’t close to the three locations.
You should also know that Google Glass is only available for 18 years or older US residents, so forget about it if you live on the other side of the ocean.
We expect this to be the final phase before the official release, which should allow anyone to order one at a much lower price. The final version should also be better and it might come with more features. Google is expected to improve both the hardware and software for the final product.
We are eager to see how many are going to benefit the invite program and get their Glass, especially considering the really high price tag.
At the moment even the app variety is very low, which doesn’t make Google Glass so attractive, but developers are working hard and soon we are going to see really good apps. Google even announced that it’s going to help developers make Android-based apps and port them to Google Glass. We should soon be able to get the Glass apps directly from Google’s Play Store, in an attempt to unify things, considering that Google Glass runs Android 4.0.4.
Google Now is getting improved too, which is very important, because Google Glass relies heavily on it to offer you localized and personalized information.
Are you going to buy Google Glass if you manage to get an invitation ?
